The San Francisco Chronicle‘s online publication SF Gate is hiring an associate editor who would be willing to cover Disneyland — and that’s it.
The unusual job listing spotted by The Desk this week seeks a “versatile journalist with a deep understanding of their region — in this case, Disneyland — and enough intellectual curiosity to want to tell stories that matter to both the people who live near it, and the people who visit.”
The listing says prospective applicants need to have a deep understanding of Disneyland, the business, its visors and its culture (“we’re not looking for someone who just likes the rides,” the job ad says). SF Gate prefers applicants who are within driving distance of Disneyland and who are “very likely an annual pass holder.” Annual passes to Disneyland range from $400 to $1,500 per year.
The part-time associate editor for the Disneyland beat will be responsible for writing 2-3 feature stories per week. Candidates who want to submit their application for the happiest job on earth can do so on LinkedIn.
