Website won’t fight fired weatherman’s request for user records

The owner of a web forum where users routinely share explicit media will not fight a legal request from a fired television meteorologist whose images were shared on the website earlier this year.

Unit 4 Media, the parent company of the online forum “Large Penis Support Group,” has stipulated to a pre-action discovery request filed by the attorneys of Erick Adame for information related to at least four users of the forum.

Last month, Adame’s attorneys filed a request with a New York-area court for a subpoena that would require Unit 4 Media to provide internet protocol (IP) addresses and other personal-identifying information associated with several LPSG users, including individuals who used the monikers “tommysize29,” “Funtimes99” and “Ladenboy227.”

Adame complains that the users uploaded material associated with one or more of his explicit online webcam shows, which were broadcast through the adult websites Chaturbate and Cam4. The Desk previously reported Adame appeared on the websites for several years before attempting to scrub recordings and other media associated with the broadcasts this year.

In a lengthy statement posted on his personal Instagram page, Adame said the broadcasts were consensual, but complained that he felt they would remain private. The Desk later published audio from his apparent final broadcast on Chaturbate in which Adame affirmed his full name, gave out his home address and spoke openly about his job as a television weatherman.

His time as a meteorologist was on thin ice when someone sent clips from his broadcast to his colleagues and managers at Spectrum News NY1, the cable news outlet where he worked. His managers did not take any disciplinary action against him until they received additional material last month in which he spoke openly about his work and his desire to have sex with his boss on camera, according to sources familiar with the issue.

It was not clear if the person or people who uploaded the material to LPSG were the same individuals responsible for sending the material to Adame’s managers at Spectrum News NY1. Attorneys representing Adame and Unit 4 Media have not returned multiple requests for comment.
