The partnership will bring artist interviews and exclusive programming to the blues-centric channel

SiriusXM and the Blues Foundation are teaming up to add more content to the satellite and streaming radio provider’s flagship blues channel.

The partnership will bring artist interviews and original programming to B. B. King’s Bluesville (SiriusXM Channel 74), one of the few over-the-air channels dedicated solely to blues music.

The partnership kicks off this week with a re-broadcast of the 2020 Virtual Blues Music Awards, which were held earlier this year. The broadcast features exclusive remote performances from Sue Foley, Walter Trout, Tommy Castro, Billy Branch, Samantha Fish and others mixed in with presentations by Keb’ Mo’, Charlie Musselwhite, Ruthie Foster and more.

The awards show airs Friday, September 4 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time (12 p.m. Pacific Time) and replays throughout the weekend.

The revamped channel, which will be programmed by the Blues Foundation, will feature future appearances by Bonnie Raitt, Robert Cray, Steve Cropper, Steve Miller, Little Steven Van Zandt and other notable blues artists.

The Blues Foundation is a non-profit organization that focuses on preserving the heritage of blues music. The agency says it has around 4,000 individual members and over 170 affiliated blues societies. The foundation is based in Memphis.

SiriusXM is headquartered in New York City.
