Cable TV giant Comcast says it has promoted its charity executive to oversee diversity initiatives for the entire company.

On Wednesday, the pay TV company said it had elevated Dalila Wilson-Scott from her role overseeing the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation to a new executive vice president and chief diversity officer position.

“Dalila is a fantastic leader and passionate advocate and supporter of our corporate social responsibility efforts, which have been at the heart of our company for decades,” Brian Roberts, Comcast’s chief executive, said in a press release. “In her new role, she will build on our strong foundation, partnering with leadership teams across our organization to continue to make our company and culture more inclusive, and to help us drive substantive change.”

Prior to the promotion, Wilson-Scott was in charge of managing the company’s philanthropic efforts, including Comcast’s $100 million commitment toward social justice and equality causes, the company said.

“She will continue to be instrumental in helping identify and build partnerships with organizations to provide the skills training and resources needed for under-resourced communities to succeed in an increasingly digital world,” a Comcast spokesperson said in a statement.

Before joining Comcast, Wilson-Scott spent nearly two decades overseeing similar charitable initiatives at the financial firm JPMorgan Chase.

“I’m excited to take on this expanded role building on our longstanding commitment to [diversity, equality and inclusion] and digital equity,” Wilson-Scott said in a social media post. “There is much work to do but I stand on an incredible foundation with extraordinary commitment from our leadership.”
