DirecTV and Major League Baseball (MLB) will offer Colorado Rockies games to satellite and streaming TV subscribers through a new dedicated channel this season.

The channel will be offered on DirecTV via Satellite (Channel 683), DirecTV via Internet and DirecTV Stream, and will allow those who normally receive Colorado Rockies games in their home market to tune in to all locally-televised events.

National games will not be included on the channel, though DirecTV via Satellite and DirecTV Stream carry a number of baseball-inclusive national networks like Fox, ESPN, Fox Sports 1, TBS and MLB Network.

“Colorado sports fans have made DirecTV the top destination to get all their favorite local teams,” said Rob Thun, the Chief Content Officer at DirecTV. “We continue to work with MLB [and other sports] leagues and their favorite local franchises, so the most avid fans can get the games they want while other customers have more choice over the content they want to have in their homes.”

The new Colorado Rockies channel will be offered in DirecTV’s Choice programming package.

Rockies games will also be offered directly to consumers through a streaming service operated by MLB, and games will air on other cable platforms offered throughout Colorado like Comcast’s Xfinity TV and Charter’s Spectrum TV. Fubo will also offer the channel on their live streaming service, according to a statement from MLB.

The agreement with DirecTV is unique in that DirecTV will also be able to offer Colorado Rockies games to its DirecTV for Business clients, making the games available to view at sports bars and restaurants like Buffalo Wild Wings.

In-market Rockies games are available to view in Colorado and parts of Wyoming, Idaho and Utah.
