Fox News Media’s digital platforms continued to dominate its peers in March 2024, with a higher level of social media engagement and more total multiplatform minutes consumed across Fox News Digital brands compared to other news publications.

Comscore data released this week shows Fox News Digital grabbed more than 1.635 billion multiplatform total views and over 3.391 billion multiplatform total minutes in March across its various properties, including the websites of the Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network. By comparison, CNN had 1.311 billion multiplatform total views and 1.910 billion total multiplatform minutes during the same time frame, while the New York Times had 1.533 billion multiplatform total views and 1.705 billion total multiplatform minutes in March.

Fox News Digital’s multiplatform total views were flat compared to the same time period last year, while CNN’s multiplatform views dipped 2 percent. The New York Times saw a 19 percent increase in total multiplatform views on a year-over basis.

Fox News Digital was also the most-engaged news brand across social media, with over 70.3 million social interactions on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and other services, according to data from Emplifi. It was the 40th consecutive month that Fox News Digital outshined its peers on social media.

During the first quarter of 2024, Fox News Digital had 17.5 million interactions on Facebook, with another 46.4 million interactions logged by co-owned video and photo sharing website Instagram. On X (Twitter), Fox News had 6.4 million interctions in March, according to Emplifi. Data from measuring firm Shareablee revealed Fox News Digital-owned channels on YouTube had more than 569 million video views in March.

Several breaking news stories and planned events helped spur interest in Fox News Digital properties during the month of March, including coverage of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, the crisis along the shared border between the United States and Mexico, President Biden’s State of the Union Address and the Fox News Channel’s coverage of rival network MSNBC’s decision to hire, and then fire, former Republican National Committee Chairperson Ronna McDaniel.

Fox News Digital includes the websites of Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network, as well as their related social and video platforms across third-party services like Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter) and YouTube. The brand is part of Fox News Media, which is owned by Fox Corporation.
