Want to watch a new TV show or movie but aren’t sure where to start? There’s now a web app for that.

Movie of the Night is a new website that helps people find shows and movies on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max.

Using a toggle switch at the top of the site, viewers choose between “movie” for feature-length films and “series” for TV shows, then select one or more genres like “action,” “biography,” comedy” or “science fiction” to sort through programs.

The website also allows for granular searches by release year or air date, language, run time and age filter among others.

By default, one recommendation is shown at a time, but users can switch to a list of recommendations by choosing “List View” under the big, red search button. The recommendations are pulled from Netflix’s catalog in 23 countries, Amazon’s catalog in 3 countries and HBO Max’s catalog in the United States, Movie of the Night’s developer Cevat Yılmaz says.

Movie of the Night is supported through memberships via its Patreon website.
