Paramount Global is elevating two executives to new roles involving national and local news products.

Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews was named president of CBS News on Monday, the same day Paramount promoted Wendy McMahon to oversee its local stations and syndicated programming business.

Ciprian-Matthews will report directly to McMahon, and oversee all aspects of the national CBS News product. She has worked for CBS News over 30 years, and was recently named to the role of executive vice president of newsgathering.

“There is no one with a stronger background to continue CBS News’ great journalistic legacy than Ingrid,” McMahon said in a statement. “Ingrid’s editorial expertise, her depth of knowledge and sensitivity to the nuance of the subjects we cover around the globe, and her impeccable news judgment make her an incredible leader. She is unwavering in her commitment to our journalism and to the people and culture of CBS News. I’m so pleased that she has agreed to partner with me at this important time.”

“The history and DNA of this organization will inform our vision for the future,” Ciprian-Matthews said on Monday. “We are a community of journalists driven by a conviction to serve the public and pursue the truth, with intentional, impartial reporting and distinctive storytelling. It is a true privilege to make sure we continue our mission long into the future – with integrity in our reporting and a firm commitment to the values, the culture and the wonderful people of CBS News.”

Additionally, Paramount has promoted Ross Dagan to serve as its executive vice president and head of news operations for CBS News and Stations, where he will oversee newsroom initiatives at more than 20 CBS-owned local television stations. Dagan will also report directly to McMahon.

Dagan moved to CBS News and Stations two years ago, after serving as the network director of news content at Australian broadcaster Network 10, which Paramount acquired in 2017.
