Roku Chief Executive Officer Anthony Wood earned around $21 million last year, while newly-hired Roku Media President Charles Collier earned nearly three times as much, according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday.

The documents reveal Collier, who joined Roku from Fox Corporation last year, earned a base salary of $1.06 million while also being awarded stock and options totaling over $52.2 million, bringing his annual earnings to over $53.3 million in his first year with the company.

Roku’s board compensation committee says it assessed Collier’s market opportunities to determine how much the executive should be paid to join Roku.

Wood, who founded Roku in 2002, was paid $1.2 million in cash last year and was awarded stock options totaling $19.8 million, the filing shows.

This week, Roku revealed it had more than 71.6 million monthly active users of its streaming TV hardware, which offers access to free, ad-supported content from the Roku Channel along with popular streaming services like Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon’s Prime Video and YouTube.

During the first three months of the year, Roku said it earned $741 million in net revenue. Gross profit was reported at $338 million, a decrease of 7 percent compared to last year.

“Roku continues to delight viewers and partner with some of the biggest brands and global entertainment companies,” a Roku executive wrote in a letter to shareholders on Wednesday. “With unmatched scale and engagement, we are creating new monetization opportunities to re-accelerate revenue growth as the ad market recovers.”
