The E. W. Scripps Company’s free streaming news channel Scripps News relaunched its website and refreshed its mobile and TV apps.

The relaunched Scripps News website incorporates the same web framework and content management system that is used by more than 60 local television stations operated by Scripps. The website features a dedicated “Watch Now” button in the top-right corner across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

The new app for smartphones allows Scripps News devotees to receive push alert notifications for breaking news, weather and sports stories, and offers a simplified homepage, category screens and story pages that are easier on the eyes. Apps for smart TV platforms like Roku and Amazon Fire TV put the 24-hour Scripps News live stream front and center, while also offering access to on-demand news clips.

Scripps said it spent “months talking with readers and viewers…to understand what’s most important,” and that its new website and apps are a direct result of viewer feedback.

The new Scripps News apps are available in the Apple and Google Play Store for iPhone, iPad and Android mobile devices, as well as the Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV (Google TV) and Apple TV app stores.

Scripps News is free to watch across a number of streaming platforms, including Pluto TV, Plex, Xumo Play, the Roku Channel, Tubi, Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, Local Now, Vizio WatchFree Plus, YouTube, Sling Freestream, TiVo Plus and Freevee. The channel is also available to subscribers of pay TV platforms like Fubo, YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream.
