Remote control manufacturer Tech4Home (T4H) has forged a partnership with Berkshire Hathaway’s Duracell that will see its units ship with Duracell-branded batteries in the future.

The partnership between T4H and Duracell is promoted as one that allows the remote manufacturer to provide reliable alkaline batteries while also meeting environmental impact goals, the companies said.

“We are thrilled to partner with Duracell to provide our customers with the best of both worlds: the latest remote control innovations with longer-lasting power solutions,” Graça Candido, a co-founder and the commercial director at T4H, said in a statement. “By including Duracell batteries with our remote controls, we ensure reliable performance, which is a priority for both t4h. and Duracell.”

Dan Haskins, the Vice President of Duracell’s Europe, Asia and Australia business-to-business sector, said the company was equally delighted to partner with T4H on the initiative.

“Together, we focus on providing the best user experience for customers, based on the performance and longevity of our products,” Haskins said on Wednesday.

Duracell is one of the world’s leaders in alkaline battery technology, commanding over 40 percent market share in the United States. Overseas, Duracell primarily competes against Energizer, Maxell, Toshiba and Panasonic, as well as regional battery manufacturers. The company has a strong presence in Europe, employing more than 900 workers, comprising nearly 30 percent of its global workforce.

T4H makes remote controls for leading pay TV brands that offer service over cable, via satellite and through the web. The company’s clients include Deutsche Telekom, Altice, Telus, Orange, SFR, Telefonica and United Group.
