Pluto TV expands content offering in Germanic countries

ViacomCBS-owned streaming service Pluto TV has expanded its content and channel offerings in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Viewers in those countries will now have access to a wider variety of shows and movies from ViacomCBS’ back library, including Blue’s Clues, SpongeBob Squarepants, iCarly and Sam & Cat, the company announced on Thursday.

Those shows will stream on around two dozen channels offered on Pluto TV’s pan-European service. Some of the shows will be exclusive in English while others will be dubbed in German.

“At Pluto TV, we want to offer everybody at home a channel they love, and we are thrilled to add more than 24 new channels in the German-speaking markets in one month,” Pluto TV Europe executive Olivier Jollet said in a statement. “Within the last four months alone, we have been able to increase our channel offering by a third of the entire portfolio. This a major step in pushing Pluto TV to the next level.”

To promote its expanded content offerings, ViacomCBS has launched a new promotional campaign on several European channels it owns, including local variants of MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.
