Vodafone’s German business plans to lay off 2,000 employees over the next two years as part of a broader restructuring of its business.

The layoffs are expected to help the company save around €400 million (about $433 million) between now and 2026.

Last year, Vodafone said it would cut around 1,300 jobs to address spending and reduce costs. The 2,000 layoffs announced this week add to the total by about 700 positions.

Vodafone Deutschland currently employs around 13,000 workers across different lines of business, including cable television, wireless phone and mobile Internet.

Vodafone Deutschland’s CEO, Philippe Rogge, is expected to resign his position by the end of the month. Marcel de Groot, the company’s current chief of consumer business, will succeed Rogge as chief executive upon his resignation.
