Weigel Broadcasting launched its sixth over-the-air digital broadcast network on Monday.

The network, called Story Television, will air non-fiction, reality-based programming from A&E and the History Channel’s library of content, including “Biography,” “The Men Who Built America,” “Modern Marvels” and “Mankind: The Story of All of Us.”

In February, a Weigel executive said the name “Story Television” derived from the word “history.”

Story Television rolled out Monday on Weigel-owned stations across the country as well as through partner broadcasters Hearst Television, Marantha Broadcasting, Marquee Broadcasting and others.

“At Weigel, we are always looking for opportunities to offer audiences access to free, quality programming options they can enjoy on any television set,” Donna D’Alessandro, an executive in charge of network content at Weigel, said in a prepared statement. “As our newest portfolio addition, Story Television will further diversify and expand Weigel’s broadcast reach by serving those viewers in search of factually-based historical programs that will deep dive into fascinating events, people, cultural moments and more.”

Along with Story Television, Weigel programs and distributes Me TV, the Decades Network and the Heroes & Icons Network. It also distributes Start TV in cooperation with Paramount Global’s CBS and Movies! in partnership with Fox Television Stations.

Nationally, Weigel’s digital networks are distributed on the streaming pay television platform Frndly TV.
