SiriusXM will not renew its agreement with sports content powerhouse Barstool Sports when its contract ends with the company on Friday.

The dissolved relationship was first announced by David Portnoy, the founder and chief executive of Barstool Sports, during a radio broadcast on Tuesday.

Barstool Sports produces a number of sports-oriented talk programs for SiriusXM, including “Starting 9,” “The Yak with Dan Katz” and “Pick Central.”

Barstool Sports launched on SiriusXM Channel 85 in January 2018.

While the channel and most of its shows will not be airing on the service starting next week, Portnoy said he had been approached by SiriusXM to continue doing his flagship talk program four days a week. It was not clear as of Wednesday if both sides had reached an agreement for SiriusXM to continue distributing his show.
