Charter Communications on Tuesday said its Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Adam Ray will add oversight of Spectrum Enterprise to his job duties.
The addition of Spectrum Enterprise to Ray’s long list of business oversight comes ahead of Bill Archer’s retirement next year. Archer currently serves as the President of Spectrum Enterprise and in an Executive Vice President role with the company.
“Over the last five years, Bill has led Spectrum Enterprise through a period of significant growth and marketplace transformation,” Chris Winfrey, the President and CEO of Charter, said in a statement. “He has played a pivotal role in creating a more client-driven culture while evolving our business model with customized solutions that meet the needs of our modern Enterprise clients. I want to thank him for the important work he has done and am grateful he will remain as an advisor during the transition.”
Spectrum Enterprise is a service-based, business-to-business solution for large corporate customers, and includes products like broadband Internet, voice, video and network services, as well as managed solutions. Some of those products include Enterprise Network Edge, Secure Dedicated Fiber Internet and Unified Communications in partnership with Ring Central.
Charter said revenue associated with Spectrum Enterprise has increased by more than 29 percent over a four-year period that started in 2020. Spectrum Enterprise typically serves corporate customers that are larger compared to Spectrum Business clients, which attract small- to medium-sized businesses. Ray currently oversees the Spectrum Business side of the company, including digital sales channels, Spectrum Stores and Spectrum Community Solutions.
“Moving forward, combining all our commercial operations under Adam will allow us to capitalize and scale the overlapping nature of the middle market segment and enhance our effectiveness in driving continued growth,” Winfrey said. “Adam is a proven leader with a bottom-up and top-down understanding of marketing sales strategy and operations which together will foster greater alignment and opportunity across our businesses.”
Ray has worked for Charter since 2005, joining the company after serving in similar roles at Comcast.
