Gray Media has named Jessica Laszewski as the next General Manager of WSAW (Channel 7), the CBS affiliate in Wausau, Wisconsin.
The appointment becomes effective July 21, 2025, and marks a return to the station for Laszewski, who previously served as its News Director.
Laszewski currently leads the newsroom at WMTV, Gray’s NBC affiliate in Madison, where she has served as News Director since 2017. During her tenure, the station rose to the top in local news viewership and underwent a successful digital transformation. Under her leadership, WMTV earned the RTDNA Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence in 2025, 2024, and 2022. In 2025 alone, the station took home nine Regional Murrow Awards—more than any other station in its division. The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association has also named WMTV Station of the Year and News Operation of the Year, and Laszewski has twice been nominated for NAB’s Service to America Award.
Before joining WMTV, Laszewski held news leadership roles at WSAW and WNDU in South Bend, Indiana. Earlier in her career, she worked as a producer and executive producer at stations across Wisconsin, including WEAU in Eau Claire, WBAY in Green Bay, WISC in Madison, and WMTV.
Laszewski remains an active figure in the journalism community. She serves on the Board of the Wisconsin Freedom of Information Council, the Executive Committee of the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association, and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. She is also a graduate of the NAB’s Business Leadership Training program.
