Gray Media has promoted Nick Hasenecz to serve as the General Manager of its South Bend, Indiana NBC affiliate, starting in December.
In the role, Hasenecz will oversee audience and revenue growth strategies for WNDU (Channel 16). He currently works as the Director of Sales for several Gray Media-owned TV stations in Cleveland, including CBS affiliate WOIO (Channel 19), independent outlet WUAB (Channel 43) and the local Telemundo affiliate.
He began his career in research at TELEREP before moving into a role as Research Director at WAVY-TV (Channel 10, NBC) in Norfolk, Virginia. His analytical expertise and deep understanding of audience data provided the foundation for his transition into sales, where he served as both National Sales Manager and Local Sales Manager for WAVY and WVBT (Channel 43, Fox).
In 2013, Hasenecz joined WCAX-TV (Channel 3, CBS) in Burlington, Vermont as the station’s sales director. During his 11-year tenure, he built one of the strongest sales teams in the region and led the station to all-time highs in market share, local direct business and overall revenue, Gray Media said in a statement.
Hasenecz is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. Gray Media said Hasenecz will relocate to Indiana later this year to assume his new role at WNDU.
