
Local television broadcaster Sinclair has named a Nexstar executive as the new general manager of its duopoly in Central California.
Starting this week, Katherine Doughery takes on the role as Vice President and General Manager
Sinclair on Tuesday named Katherine Dougherty the Vice President and General Manager of KMPH Channel 26, Fox) Fox and KFRE (Channel 59, CW Network) in Fresno, returning the long-time sales executive to the company’s Central Valley operations.
Dougherty rejoins Sinclair from KOIN (Channel 6, CBS in Portland, Oregon, where she most recently served as Integrated Sales Manager. In that role, she oversaw multi-platform revenue strategies and client partnerships across broadcast and digital platforms.
She previously worked for Sinclair as the Station Manager of KMTR (Channel 16, NBC) in Eugene. During her earlier tenure with the company, Dougherty also held digital sales leadership positions at KMTR and KVAL (Channel 13, CBS), with a focus on expanding local and regional advertising revenue streams.
Sinclair said Dougherty has consistently exceeded revenue targets throughout her career while developing high-performing teams and cultivating long-term client relationships.
“Kathie is a proven leader with a strong track record of driving revenue growth, operational excellence and community engagement,” said Rob Weisbord, the Chief Operating Officer and President of Local Media at Sinclair, in a statement. “Her strategic mindset and collaborative leadership style make her the ideal choice to lead our Fresno operations, and we’re thrilled she is returning to Sinclair.”
