
TheDesk.net is free to read and independently owned. We don’t have a paywall, and we don’t run intrusive pop-ups or auto-playing video ads — the modest, clearly-marked ads on this site are what let us keep it that way and pay our journalists to cover the media industry.
If you use an ad blocker, we understand — a lot of the web is a mess. That’s why our ad load is among the lightest in the industry — only a few ads around the article, no in-content ads on desktop devices and minimal interruptions on phones and tablets.

Google Chrome
Click the lock/site-info icon to the left of the address bar, choose “Site settings,” find “Intrusive ads” under Permissions, and set it to “Allow.” Refresh the page. (Note: Chrome only blocks ads it flags as “intrusive” — most sites, including ours, aren’t affected by this by default.)
Safari
If you use a Mac computer: Go to Safari > Settings > Websites > Content Blockers, find TheDesk.net in the list, and set it to “Off.”
If you use an iPhone or iPad: Tap the “aA” icon in the address bar, select “Website Settings,” and toggle off “Use Content Blockers.”
Firefox
Click the shield icon to the left of the address bar and toggle off “Enhanced Tracking Protection” for this site. The page will reload automatically.
Microsoft Edge
Click the lock icon to the left of the address bar and toggle off “Tracking prevention for this site.”
Brave
Click the lion icon to the right of the address bar and toggle Shields to “Down” for this site.
