CBS launches digital news channel for Sacramento

CBSN is a 24-hour digital news channel offered by the CBS News division of ViacomCBS. It distributes breaking news reports, regular news programming and documentaries of interest, with a focus on national news, politics and lifestyle stories. In addition to its own original newscasts and programming, CBSN re-airs popular CBS News broadcast shows like “CBS Sunday Morning” and “CBS This Morning.” The service is owned and operated by ViacomCBS.

CBSN has started distributing its free streaming news service in 83 regional app stores across the world, according to a release.
After multiple missed launch windows, CBS is finally preparing to unveil a 24-hour digital news channel based in Sacramento that will cover Northern California.
CBSN saw a 96 percent year-over-year increase in streams and a 82 percent year-over-year increase in watch time compared to January 2019.
CBSN has rolled out a new plan to stream original documentaries at the same time each week across its digital platforms, according to a report.
