Time Warner Cable will soon launch a new channel that will provide around-the-clock coverage of Pope Francis I’s upcoming visit to Cuba and the United States, the company said on Monday.
The cable giant said the channel would provide “24-hour…coverage of all the pope’s activities from his arrival in Cuba to his visits to Washington, D.C., New York City and Philadelphia.”
The new channel will be programmed by Time Warne Cable News. It will air on digital cable channels 199 throughout the country (or channel 299 on some systems) and will also be viewable online and via Time Warner Cable’s mobile apps. Certain news segments will also be available on Time Warner Cable’s on-demand service.
Time Warner Cable said the channel will be available to all digital cable customers at no extra cost. The company has over 15 million pay TV subscribers across the country.
The new channel launches September 20.
