An outage affecting Google’s video streaming service YouTube left millions around the world without access to the most-popular video platform on the Internet on Wednesday.

In a text message, a Google engineer confirmed to The Desk that the outage was also affecting YouTube TV, the company’s streaming pay television service.

The outage began around 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time when users reporting having issues streaming videos on both platforms. The websites for both YouTube and YouTube TV remained operational, but videos failed to load and play.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the issue, but it was resolved about an hour later.
