LG adds four new channels on free streaming service

LG has integrated four new linear content channels into its free, ad-supported streaming service.

The new streams added to LG Channels include two owned by the E. W. Scripps Company, and bolsters LG’s free content offering to more than 300.

The new streams added to LG Channels this month are:

  • Grit Xtra (Channel 269), featuring classic western TV shows and movies.
  • Ion Mystery (Channel 394), offering up thrillers, crime-based dramas and reality programming like “Forensic Files” and “Bones.”
  • The Red Green Channel (Channel 516), a collection of do-it-yourself shows featuring Red Green and his hometown, Possum Lake, Canada.
  • Pickle TV (Channel 473), a streaming network dedicated to Pickleball, the fastest-growing sport in America (and not about the food).

The LG Channels service is powered by Comcast’s Xumo Play, which offers streaming news, general entertainment, documentaries, music and movies from dozens of sources, including CBS News, ABC News, NBC News, Fox News Media, Fox Sports, FilmRise, Conde Nast and more.

LG Channels is available as a free app on most newer-model LG smart TVs, including its top-of-the-line OLED display sets.
