Twitter names NBC Universal’s Linda Yaccarino as new CEO

Twitter owner Elon Musk has named Linda Yaccarino as the new chief executive of the social media platform.

Yaccarino previously served as the head executive in charge of global advertising and partnerships at Comcast’s NBC Universal, where she worked for more than a decade. Before joining Comcast, she worked in a similar role at Turner Broadcasting Systems from January 1992 to November 2011; Turner is now part of Warner Bros Discovery.

“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter,” Musk wrote in a tweet on Friday, noting that Yaccarino will lead the daily operations at Twitter while he will move to the role of chief technology officer.

On Friday, NBC Universal said Yaccarino had resigned her role there.
