After more than a year of promotions and much longer in development, SiriusXM has finally debuted the newest iteration of its streaming app for mobile devices.
The new SiriusXM app offers an improved onboarding process that aims to personalize the overall experience of the streaming radio service, plus refinements to its home screen, “Now playing” window and favorites menu.
The “Favorites” menu has now moved to the “Library” screen, where streamers will have access to their favorite SiriusXM channels, on-demand versions of shows and podcasts available through the SiriusXM catalog.
There are new features for sports fans, too: A dedicated Sports page collates live events and sports segments from various SiriusXM shows and podcasts. Streamers can even get notifications when sports events from their favorite teams start, simply by “following” the team from each dedicated team page (which is discoverable by searching for each team by name).
“The new SiriusXM app provides a seamless listening experience across streaming devices that reflects listener preferences and interests and ensures subscribers never miss a moment wherever they are and whenever they want to listen,” a SiriusXM spokesperson wrote in a press release on Thursday.
The new SiriusXM app for phones and tablets is available to download right now in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Streaming access to SiriusXM is included in most plans, and a standalone subscription to SiriusXM streaming radio costs around $10 per month.
