German streaming service Joyn is now available to customers of Deutsche Telekom’s television service Magenta TV.
The service owned by ProSieben Sat.1 Media recently refreshed its user experience, with the new Joyn interface available to Magenta TV customers today. Existing Joyn subscribers on other platforms will see the new interface later this month.
“With the launch of the Joyn app at Deutsche Telekom, Magenta TV customers can now watch our free content more easily than ever before, just in time for the start of Germany’s Next Top Model,” Katharina Frömsdorf, the CEO of Joyn, said in a statement, referencing one of Germany’s top reality show competitions.
“Through this partnership, we are opening up additional reach for Joyn’s free streaming offer, with corresponding advertising sales potential. We are thus creating an even more attractive offer for Magenta TV customers,” Frömsdorf continued.
“The cooperation with Joyn underlines our strategic approach,” Arnim Butzen, the head of television at Deutsche Telekom, said on Thursday. “As a smart aggregator, we want to offer our Magenta TV customers the best TV experience together with strong partners. The free Joyn app gives our customers access to first-class content from numerous genres, including top titles in both fictional and non-fictional areas.”
In addition to reality shows and hit German series, Joyn is the streaming destination for shows imported from HBO in the United States, including the “Game of Thrones” spin-off “House of the Dragon.” A second season of the show is expected to debut in Germany in the summer months.
