Comcast’s satellite and streaming television service Sky will begin offering its streaming television box to subscribers in Germany this summer.

The Sky Stream box unifies streaming linear channels available through a traditional Sky television package, along with streaming apps like Netflix, Disney Plus and Amazon’s Prime Video, all from a single device.

Sky Stream was first introduced in the United Kingdom in October 2022, followed by a rollout to Sky Ireland subscribers last July. It will debut in Germany in the summer months and in Austria early next year, Comcast officials affirmed this week.

“We are delighted that we can now also offer Sky Stream in Germany and Austria,” Barny Mills, the CEO of Sky Deutschland, said in a statement. ” It will play a central role in our strategy to further expand our business. Sky Stream offers a completely new kind of TV experience and will help our customers find the content they love quickly and easily across different providers.”

In Germany, Sky offers its traditional satellite service as well as Wow TV, which is similar to Now TV offered in the United Kingdom. Wow TV is expected to be available through Sky Stream alongside other streaming services and third-party apps.

Additional details about the launch in Germany are expected in the coming weeks.
