Comcast’s satellite and streaming TV operator Sky Italia has reached a deal to keep English Premier League matches on its channels for at least another three seasons.
On Wednesday, Sky said Italian television subscribers who subscribe to Sky Italia or the streaming service Now TV will be able to access 10 matches per round across its linear Sky Sport Italia network of channels.
The rights period lasts through the end of the 2024-25 season, the company confirmed in a statement.
“We are happy to announce this agreement with the Premier League, which will remain a fundamental pillar of Sky Sport’s offering in the coming seasons,” Marzio Perrelli, the Executive Vice President of Sky Sport, said in a statement.
The news comes about a month after Sky Deutschland announced it had secured exclusive broadcast rights to English Premier League matches in Germany, as well as non-exclusive rights to those events aired in Austria and Switzerland.
In addition to English Premier League, Sky Italia holds the distribution rights to three games per round of Italy’s Serie A, which it shares with streaming service DAZN.
