More than a dozen home football games from the Pac-12 Conference will air on national television this upcoming season, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
Eleven games will air on Nexstar Media Group-controlled CW Network, while another two games will bounce between the Fox broadcast network or Fox Sports 1 (FS1) cable channel, making a total of 13 games available to college football fans from coast to coast (except Detroit, maybe).
Pac-12 Enterprises will produce all 11 broadcasts for the CW Network, while Fox is expected to handle production duties for its two games. The 11 games airing on the CW Network were announced on Tuesday; the other two games slated for Fox will be revealed at a later date.
“We are thrilled to announce these national partnerships with The CW and Fox,” said Teresa Gould, the Commissioner of the Pac-12 Conference. “Oregon State and Washington State football student-athletes deserve this elite stage as they continue competing for the College Football Playoff, and Beaver and Cougar fans have a great opportunity to enjoy their teams successes.”
The schools are the last two remaining in the Pac-12 Conference following a turbulent re-alignment of college conferences over the past few years. The deals come at a time when television broadcasters are increasingly looking at college sports rights to incorporate more live events into their schedules.
“Adding the Pac-12 Conference to The CW’s growing roster of live sports gives the network coast-to-coast coverage in key markets and solidifies our position as a national player in college sports,” Dennis Miller, the President of the CW Network, said on Tuesday. “The CW will truly be a destination for all sports fans this fall with impressive weekend lineups consisting of Pac-12 football, ACC football, LIV Golf and NASCAR Xfinity Series playoff races.”
