California-based production and distribution firm Electric Entertainment has promoted Raul Piña to serve as its Director of International Distribution and Marketing, the company announced on Thursday.
In his new role, Piña will oversee matters related to global distribution, sales and marketing for Electric Entertainment’s portfolio of content in Latin America, Brazil and Portugal, and will assist in a similar capacity to ensure the company’s streaming service Electric Now reaches consumers on Hispanic media platforms in the United States.
“This is a much-deserved promotion and a testament to Raul’s hard work and dedication over the years,” Sonia Mehandjiyska, the Head of International Distribution at Electric Entertainment, said in a statement. “He has consistently proven himself to be an invaluable asset to both our international and domestic teams. I am confident Raul will continue to thrive and excel in this position, contributing greatly to the ongoing growth and success of Electric Entertainment.”
As Director of International Distribution and Marketing, Piña will market Electric Entertainment’s content to platforms and services in international territories, with a specific focus on Latin America. He will also handle content distribution efforts in the U.S., working with broadcasters and platforms on sales and licensing arrangements, and market the company’s Electric Now en Español streaming channel to Hispanic-focused platforms in the domestic market.
Piña joined the company in 2019, serving first as an international sales assistant before climbing the ladder to eventually become a manager of international distribution and marketing efforts.
