Fathom Entertainment, a joint venture of the country’s largest movie theater chains, has named Eric Becker as its head of corporate communications.

Becker will report to Shannah Miller, the Vice President of Marketing at Fathom Entertainment, and will be responsible for all external communication activities, media relations and programming publicity campaigns, among related tasks.

“Fathom Entertainment is pleased to have Eric join our team at this transformational chapter in time for the company and while experiencing such great change for the industry-at-large,” Ray Nutt, the Chief Executive Officer of Fathom Entertainment, said in a statement on Wednesday. “Working closely with Shannah and her team, Eric’s many years of senior PR leadership, integrity, and experience and dedication to telling the story of the business of media and entertainment is a perfect fit for Fathom and the culture we have built at the company.”

Becker joins Fathom Entertainment after several years of running his own public relations firm, which recently saw him partner with Los Angeles-based publicist Bob Gold to oversee a new division focused on streaming clients.

Prior to running his own firm, Becker was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications at Starz, where he worked for nearly two decades. He also worked in a similar role for New York-based ICR.

While running his own PR firm, Becker oversaw external communications and media relations for clients like MyBundle, Haystack News and Orby TV, among others. His public relations firm closed up shop at the end of December, so he could move over to Fathom Entertainment on a full-time basis.

Fathom Entertainment is operated as a joint venture between AMC Entertainment, Cinemark Holdings and Regal Cineworld Group. The company provides live and pre-recorded content, including special events, to movie theaters around the world, and is based in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
