The Fox News Channel’s weekend morning host Will Cain will launch a new program in the 4 p.m. Eastern Time slot during the week, effectively taking over the slot vacated by Neil Cavuto upon his retirement last month.

Cain, currently the host of “Fox & Friends Weekend,” will launch “The Will Cain Show” on January 21, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott announced on Friday.

“It has been an honor to wake up with America these past four years, and I am thrilled to apply my background in news, law, entertainment and business to help our viewers better understand the headlines through thought-provoking content and analysis every weekday afternoon,” Cain said in a statement emailed to The Desk on Monday.

“As the media landscape continues to evolve, we are always looking to innovate our programming lineup to meet the needs of our viewers, and we are confident the new lineup will best position Fox News Media for the future,” Suzanne Scott, the CEO of Fox News Media, said in a statement. “Will Cain brings years of experience to the 4 p.m. hour as an accomplished broadcaster and a lawyer and we look forward to adding his insights to what will no doubt be another historic news cycle ahead this year.”

Cain’s last weekend show will be January 18, the network said. Charlie Hurt, a current Fox News contributor, will replace Cain on the weekend morning program. “Fox Report” and “The Big Weekend Show” will expand to two hours during the weekend, the network affirmed. With the expansion, Fox Report will move to the 3 p.m. Eastern Time slot on Saturday and Sundays, while The Big Weekend Show will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time on both days.
