ACA Connects, the industry association representing hundreds of small- and medium-sized broadband providers, has appointed Michael Weening to its board of directors.
For three years, Weening has served as the CEO of Calix, a cloud software and managed services provider that helps broadband providers evolve their consumer and business-to-business experiences.
“Calix has been a fantastic partner of ACA Connects for many years,” Grant Spellmeyer, the CEO of ACA Connects, said in a statement on Tuesday. “Michael is forward-thinking, very strategic, and an excellent leader. He brings a great depth of knowledge of opportunities in our industry to our Board of Directors. I’m thrilled he is joining ACA Connects leadership.”
“I’m honored to join the very talented Board at ACA Connects,” Weening said on Thursday. “Calix has a 25-year track-record of partnering with customers to transform the communities they serve. Leaders such as Patty and Grant exemplify what it means to work as a team for their members’ success, and we are proud to support them at this critical time.”
Weening joins the ACA Connects board at a time when “the industry is under enormous pressure,” he continued.
“What drove success in the past will not guarantee success in the future,” Weening warned. “We believe that by listening closely to these leaders and the members of ACA, Calix can continue to evolve our team and our unique platform to enable even greater success for broadband providers. Thank you to the ACA Board for the opportunity to be their partner for the betterment of their members and the communities that we all serve.”
“At ACA Connects, our Members value cutting-edge innovation and carry an entrepreneurial spirit that puts us head and shoulders above the rest! That is what makes Michael an outstanding fit to join our crew,” said Patricia Jo Boyers, the co-founder, President and CEO of Boycom Vision and the Chairman of ACA Connects. “Welcome aboard, Michael, and buckle up!”
