Streaming sports platform DAZN has landed television distribution rights to LIV Golf League tournaments and events in more than 200 markets, including exclusive broadcast rights in several European countries and Japan.

The deal will see DAZN distribute LIV Golf on free platforms around the world, and grants the sports streamer the rights to tournaments and events in Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Portugal and Switzerland on an exclusive basis.

The partnership also involves DAZN developing a new premium service that will charge golf fans for the privilege of accessing “more LIV Golf content and features for golf fans to enjoy,” a spokesperson said on Friday. In the meantime, LIV Golf events will exist within a section of the DAZN app, called LIV Golf Plus (stylized as LIV Golf+), that will offer them for free with advertising.

“DAZN’s cutting-edge technology and unparalleled scale give LIV Golf a significant platform to engage a truly global audience,” said Scott O’Neil, the CEO of LIV Golf. “Our players, teams and schedule span the globe, and it’s important that we continue to connect with fans all over the world as we grow our League in new and exciting markets.”

Launched in 2021, LIV Golf was established to serve as a global golf promotion, rivaling that of PGA Tour. The franchise secured broadcast agreements in the United States with the CW Network upon its launch, and will start airing tournaments on Fox Sports later this year.

The deal with DAZN marks LIV Golf’s most-ambitious broadcast partnership to date, and gives the sport a global platform.

“As a truly global broadcaster, DAZN is dedicated to ensuring that fans in every region can experience the most exciting action from LIV Golf, live and free,” Shay Segev, the CEO of DAZN, said on Friday. “LIV Golf Plus on DAZN will be available alongside DAZN’s extended free content offering, positioning it within an ecosystem that has already captured the attention of golf fans worldwide. This strategic partnership will grow the reach and popularity of LIV Golf, while bringing us closer to building the global home of golf on DAZN.”
