The Walt Disney Company has moved the ABC affiliation in Miami from a television station owned by Warren Buffett to one that is also affiliated with Fox Corporation’s broadcast network.

On Monday, WSVN-TV (Channel 7) began broadcasting shows from ABC on one of its digital over-the-air sub-channels, about six months after the network’s former affiliate WPLG (Channel 10) said they would stop carrying ABC on their signal.

The move has effectively converted WPLG into a full-time independent station. Station executives at WPLG say the outlet will license more syndicated programming and increase the amount of local news it offers to fill out the schedule.
