The National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation (NABLF) has appointed NBC Universal’s Valari Dobson Staab and Kalil & Company’s Todd Hartman to its board of directors, expanding the organization’s leadership with two veteran media executives.
The appointments were announced this week by NABLF President Michelle Duke, who said both executives bring extensive experience across broadcast, digital media and strategic transactions.
“Valari and Todd bring exceptional leadership and deep industry expertise to our board,” Duke said in a statement. “Their perspectives will be instrumental as we continue to expand our programs and strengthen our efforts to develop the next generation of broadcast and media leaders.”
Staab serves as chairman of NBC Universal Local, where she oversees a portfolio of 50 media properties, including NBC and Telemundo-owned television stations, regional sports networks and streaming channels. The division produces nearly 1,000 hours of local news and programming each week across 30 U.S. markets, including Puerto Rico.
A media executive with more than four decades of experience, Staab has led initiatives focused on bilingual news coverage, investigative journalism and the expansion of local content across streaming platforms. She joined NBC Universal in 2011 and was elevated to chairman in 2022.
Hartman is an executive vice president at Kalil & Company, where he advises clients on mergers, acquisitions and strategic transactions across the media sector. Over a career spanning more than 25 years, he has worked on deals involving television and radio stations, out-of-home advertising assets and digital infrastructure.
Kalil & Company is one of the industry’s most active brokerage firms, frequently representing station groups and media companies in ownership transactions amid ongoing consolidation across the broadcast sector.
The NABLF focuses on advancing diversity, education and professional development within the broadcast industry. Its board includes executives from across television, radio and digital media, and plays a key role in guiding initiatives aimed at workforce development and leadership training.
