Rachel Morgan, the former Chief Legal Officer of Nexstar Media Group who departed in May, will reprise the role as the new Chief Legal Officer of restaurant chain Dave & Buster’s Entertainment.
Morgan announced her new role in a social media post this week. She succeeded Rudy Rodriguez, Jr., who recently departed for a role at another company.
“Dave & Buster’s is an iconic brand with a talented team and tremendous opportunity ahead,” Morgan wrote on LinkedIn. “I’m looking forward to the challenge and to helping support the company’s next chapter of growth.”
Morgan joined Nexstar in 2022, and was instrumental in helping the local broadcaster navigate through complex distribution deals for its local channels, CW Network and NewsNation. She also played a role in Nexstar’s acquisition of TEGNA, which is being challenged in court on antitrust grounds.
She left Nexstar near the end of May, several weeks after a lower court issued an injunction that prevents Nexstar from combining its local TV operations with TEGNA. Nexstar is appealing the order and is running TEGNA as a subsidiary business with separate leadership and operational structures for the time being.
Dave & Buster’s owns more than 240 entertainment and dining venues around the world, most of which are located in the United States. More than 170 restaurants carry the Dave & Buster’s names, while another 64 restaurants are branded as Main Event.
