MediaCo has promoted Chief Revenue Officer Brian Fisher to President as part of an executive restructuring that also includes the departure of Chief Financial Officer Debra DeFelice.
The company’s Board of Directors appointed Fisher to the new role effective July 20. He will oversee MediaCo’s daily operations and execution, while Albert Rodriguez remains Chief Executive Officer with responsibility for long-term strategy, growth initiatives and shareholder value.
The company said the changes are intended to support operational execution and long-term growth. MediaCo did not disclose a timetable for naming a permanent Chief Financial Officer.
Fisher had served as Chief Revenue Officer since August 2025. Before that, he held several sales leadership positions at Estrella Media, including Senior Vice President of Video Sales, Senior Vice President of Multimedia Sales and Vice President of OTT and Connected Television Sales.
“Brian is the right leader to serve as President,” Rodriguez said in a statement, adding that the appointments position MediaCo for its next phase of growth.
The company also disclosed that DeFelice no longer serves as Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer or Executive Vice President. No reason was provided for her departure; DeFelice had been promoted to Executive Vice President in November while retaining her finance titles, then signed a multiyear employment agreement the following month.
In the same announcement, MediaCo named Roberto Castro Interim Chief Financial Officer and Interim Treasurer while it conducts a search for a permanent finance chief. Castro joined MediaCo in April as Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller. He previously spent nearly 24 years at Spanish Broadcasting System, where he rose to Vice President of Finance in 2015.
Earlier in his career, Castro held accounting and auditing positions at DirecTV Latin America and worked as an auditor at Coopers & Lybrand. Rodriguez said Castro’s financial experience would provide continuity during the search process.
MediaCo acquired Estrella Media in 2024, adding its Spanish-language television, radio and digital properties to a portfolio that also includes New York radio stations WBLS (107.5 FM) and WQHT (97.1 FM). The company primarily serves the African-American and Spanish-language audience through its ownership of radio and television stations across the country.
