Ben Frow is stepping down from his role as Chief Content Officer for Skydance’s public service broadcaster Channel 5 in the United Kingdom, with the resignation taking place toward the end of 2027, he confirmed in a memo on Wednesday.
Frow said he believed it was the right time to hand over the role after achieving what he set out to accomplish at Channel 5. He will remain with the company during the transition.
Channel 5 President Reemah Sakaan said the network plans to appoint a new creative leader and praised Frow’s creative skills, focus on audiences and competitive approach.
During his tenure, Frow oversaw programs including “The Yorkshire Vet,” “Cruising With Jane McDonald,” “Rich House, Poor House,” “All Creatures Great and Small,” “Ellis” and “Good Ship Murder.”
His departure comes as Channel 5 reported a £24.5 million (around U.S. $32 million) year-over decline in profit. Skydance has said it remains committed to building on the network’s performance as part of its broader media strategy.
Paramount, the former parent of Channel 5, was absorbed into Skydance following the company’s broader purchase of Warner Bros Discovery earlier this month.
In the United Kingdom, Channel 5 is one of three major commercial public service broadcasters, the other being ITV and Channel 4. All three networks primarily compete against the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
