No ultra-HD stream of Super Bowl this year, CBS confirms
ViacomCBS will not offer an ultra-high definition stream of the Super Bowl when it airs on the CBS broadcast network on Sunday, the media company confirmed over the weekend.
CBS (formerly the Columbia Broadcasting System) is a television broadcast network owned by ViacomCBS. In addition to the broadcast network, CBS operates more than a dozen local stations across the country as well as CBS News, CBS Sports and cable channels CBS Sports Network, Smithsonian Channel and Pop Network. Prior to its merger with Viacom, CBS also operated the premium multiplex movie services Showtime and The Movie Channel.
