Comcast puts NBC Sky World News channel on indefinite hiatus
Comcast has halted plans to launch a new global news channel co-branded with its NBC News and Sky satellite properties, according to a source.
Sky Group is a European mass media company that is owned by American telecommunications giant Comcast. The company operates three satellite television services — Sky UK, Sky Italia (Italy) and Sky Deutschland (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) — as well as the Now TV streaming service in the United Kingdom.

Satellite broadcaster Sky has struck a non-exclusive agreement with the Walt Disney Company to bring the new streaming service Disney Plus to Sky Q set-top boxes later this month.
BSkyB confirmed on Monday that it has entered into “preliminary discussions” with 21st Century Fox about a possible acquisition of sister services Sky Deutschland and Sky Italia.
