The San Francisco Chronicle is ditching its paywall after four months, one of the few newspapers in the industry to do so.
Content published in the San Francisco Chronicle and exclusively on the Chronicle’s website SFGate.com will soon be free to view online, though it is unclear when the paywall will be dropped, according to SFWeekly.
Employees were told about the paywall’s future at a staff meeting earlier in the week, SFWeekly reported.
