The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) is expanding its streaming partnership with Roku, giving fans free access to a package of Sunday Night matches on the Roku Sports Channel.
The Roku Sports Channel will serve as the exclusive streaming home for eight Sunday Night NWSL matches during the remainder of the 2026 season, beginning August 30 with Seattle Reign FC against the Houston Dash. The package will run through October 25, concluding with San Diego Wave FC against Boston Legacy FC.
The agreement will expand in 2027, when Roku will carry 25 Sunday Night matches across the season on a schedule to be announced later.
The Roku Sports Channel streams for free through The Roku Channel and does not require a subscription. The Roku Channel is available on Roku devices and TVs, and as a standalone app for Apple TV, Android TV (Google TV), Amazon’s Fire TV and on Samsung smart TVs. Samsung TV Plus also offers standalone access to Roku Sports Network.
“We’re thrilled to be elevating our partnership with NWSL to include this exclusive package of Sunday Night matches, leading into and during what will be a watershed year for women’s soccer,” Roku’s Head of Sports Joe Franzetta said in a statement.
Franzetta said Roku’s audience reach will bring NWSL matches to more than half of U.S. streaming households and deepen the company’s commitment to women’s sports.
The expanded agreement builds on Roku’s existing relationship with the league. In 2025, Roku launched an NWSL Zone within its Sports experience, giving fans a centralized area to find live and upcoming matches, clips and highlights from the league.
“As we continue to grow the NWSL’s audience, we’re focused on making it as easy as possible for fans to find and watch our matches wherever they are,” Rachel Epstein, the Chief Marketing Officer of the NWSL, said on Wednesday. “Roku’s tremendous scale and accessibility make them an exciting partner as we bring more NWSL matches to more viewers and continue building consistent destinations for fans to engage with our league.”
Roku has been expanding its sports discovery and programming efforts, with the NWSL deal complementing its broader investment in women’s sports storytelling, including the documentary series “Gamechangers.”
Roku was the top platform in the U.S. for streaming the World Cup, the company said in a statement, citing data from Nielsen.
