A small fire drew a large response from Sacramento firefighters at the main studios of KCRA-TV over the weekend.
Firefighters were called to the KCRA (Channel 3) campus on Television Circle shortly after midnight Sunday. The first firefighters on scene requested a second alarm after observing smoke coming from the north end of the complex.
The fire was contained within a half hour, according to a video stream published by the Public Safety News Network on Facebook. Though staff were initially evacuated, the station remained on the air throughout the incident.
A source close to the station said electrical equipment was blamed for the blaze. Minimal smoke and water damage was reported.
As of Monday morning, KCRA had not reported on the fire at the complex.
KCRA, Sacramento’s NBC affiliate, is owned by Hearst Television.
