Comcast to drop Indian news channel NDTV

Cable provider Comcast says it will remove a popular India-based news channel from its lineup later this year.

Starting June 16, Comcast subscribers will no longer have access to NDTV 24×7, a 24-hour English-language news channel that broadcasts domestic and international news from New Delhi.

Comcast gave no reason for its decision to drop the channel. The news network was available in several South Asian-language packages alongside Hindi-language channels.

The cable company will continue to carry ABP News as well as Sony Entertainment Television, Willow and Zee TV in its South Asian programming package.

In the United States, NDTV 24×7 is free to stream via its website and on YouTube. The channel is also offered on Dish Network’s streaming service Sling TV.
