SiriusXM Pandora is rolling out a new discount targeted to truck drivers and the fleet companies that employ them.
Truckers and fleet companies can now save up to 60 percent off the regular rate of a satellite radio subscription, with SiriusXM Pandora offering a satellite and streaming music subscription for $5 a month per radio (plus tax and a Music Royalty Fee) with a minimum of two hardware radios on an account.
Sales material reviewed by The Desk showed SiriusXM Pandora is targeting truck drivers and fleets by promoting channels it thinks will most appeal to truckers, including country music stations The Highway and Y2Kountry, talk programming from Howard Stern, the company’s own trucker-focused Road Dog Trucking Radio and an audio simulcast of the Fox News Channel.
But those aren’t the only channels available to truckers: The entire SiriusXM satellite and streaming radio line-up is accessible through the fleet discount program, with the subscription being offered appearing to be SiriusXM Pandora’s top-of-the-line All Access tier.
That tier offers Comedy Central and Netflix-branded comedy stations; audio simulcasts of CNN, MSNBC and the BBC World Service; and nearly 100 commercial-free music stations ranging from rock to rap, country to dance, pop to classical and everything in-between.
The fleet discount is available for truckers and trucking companies only, and subscription inquiries can be made by visiting the SiriusXM Fleet portal online or by calling (864) 346-9790.
