Amazon says it is now offering thousands of hours of free sports highlights for users of its Fire TV line of streaming devices.

The highlights are available right from the home screen of a Fire TV device, Amazon said in a blog post, and will include post-game excerpts from Major League Baseball games played during the post season, starting October 7.

Sports news coverage will also populate the highlights section, with content provided by NBC Sports, Fox Sports, CBS Sports HQ, NASCAR, Stadium, ACC Digital Network and the Pac 12 Networks.

The announcement coincides with an Amazon fire sale, where many of its Fire TV devices are seeing a deep discount.

The basic Amazon Fire TV Stick is selling for just $20, a 50 percent drop from its normal price of $40. It includes a voice-powered remote that allows streamers to navigate video content using Amazon’s smart assistant Alexa. For just $5 more, streamers can pick up the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, which offers many of the same features as the original Fire TV Stick but also includes support for ultra-high definition (UHD/4K) video content as well as Dolby Vision.

The previous generation of the top-of-the-line Amazon Fire TV Cube is also on sale, with Amazon selling it for $60, a 50 percent drop from its usual price of $120. The Amazon Fire TV Cube comes with several microphones built right into the device, which allows for hands-free operation of the Amazon Fire TV platform and Alexa.

Streamers with older TV sets might benefit from a new one entirely, and Amazon is having a hot sale on its Fire TV-capable smart TV sets. The Insignia 43-inch set costs just $200 (down from $300) and offers support for UHD/4K content. For about $50 more, streamers can pick up the 50-inch model of the same Insignia TV set with Fire TV built-in and support for UHD/4K video.
