Internet service provider Metronet says it is bringing multi-gig download and upload speeds to residents in Beavercreek, Ohio.
Beavercreek citizens now have the ability to sign up for Metronet’s full-fiber optic Internet service, which offers connection speeds of 1-2 gigabits per second to residents and up to 10 gigabits per second to businesses.
“The City of Beavercreek welcomes Metronet to the community,” Peter Landru, the city manager of Beavercreek, said in a statement. “Their presence in Beavercreek will bring more competition to the area and offer residents and business owners with additional options when choosing an internet provider.”
Based in western Ohio, Beavercreek has a population of just over 46,000 residents, according to the latest U.S. Census report published in 2020. Citizens will continue to see Metronet workers laying down fiber lines in their neighborhoods, and will receive at least 30 days notice of any construction taking place near their homes and workplaces.
“Beavercreek has been wonderful to work alongside as we bring our multi-gigabit, future-proof internet to residents and businesses throughout the city,” John Autry, the regional sales manager of community development at Metronet, said. “As one of the first communities in Ohio that will have access to our multi-gigabit speeds, we are excited to see the positive impact of our future-proof infrastructure.”
Metronet typically offers new residential customers their first month of Internet service for free, plus free installation of any hardware needed to bring the Internet service to their home. Most plans include a free Amazon Eero wireless router at no extra cost, and supports high-definition and 4K video streams, online gaming and teleconferencing over Zoom and other applications with no data caps.
