Gray Television and Marquee Broadcasting have agreed to swap a pair of television stations broadcasting in Idaho and Georgia.
The swap will see Gray divesting Boise-area Fox affiliate KNIN (Channel 9) in exchange for Perry-licensed independent station WPGA (Channel 58).
Marquee is a relatively small owner of broadcast stations, primarily serving the southern states as well as parts of the East Coast. It operates around a dozen full-power and low-power broadcast stations in Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio and Tennessee.
KNIN will be Marquee’s first licensed stations west of the Mississippi River. The station is currently operated by the E. W. Scripps Company under a shared services agreement. Scripps is expected to continue operating KNIN on Marquee’s behalf if the swap gets regulatory approval, which is expected to happen later this year.
Affiliation changes are not expected as part of the deal.
